How long does local SEO take?
Set expectations around completed actions and useful evidence, rather than a promised ranking date.
01. Separate fixes from visibility changes
A broken enquiry link can be fixed today. A change in search visibility takes time to assess and depends on your starting point, competition and how the search system processes changes. Do not confuse finishing a checklist with reaching a guaranteed position.
02. Keep a baseline
Record current website search clicks, available profile interactions and actual enquiries before making changes. Include seasonal context and the dates of your changes. A quiet week while you are away from work may not say anything useful about SEO.
03. Review a consistent period
Choose a regular review point that fits your business. Examine the work completed, whether the customer journey works and whether the same measures show a useful pattern. Avoid a daily obsession with a single phrase on your own phone.
04. Choose the next action from evidence
If people visit a service page but cannot work out how to contact you, fix the page. If the business information is outdated, correct it. If you cannot tell where enquiries come from, improve the record. No consultant or software can guarantee a date for a first-place result.
